I am Emily Ruth. I‘m a mum and stepmum, a travel enthusiast, an avid Geelong Cats fan and a lover of music and books. Whilst studying my bachelor of nursing at UTAS in 2019, I fell pregnant with my son, and after giving birth during the madness of 2020 Covid lockdowns, I decided to pursue a career that better aligned with my passions. I am so blessed to be able to capture beautiful families and document their journeys from bumps to babies and beyond.

My penchant is Newborn Photography and this is what I do the most of. As well as newborns, you’ll find me doing maternity shoots, motherhood shoots, sitter sessions, cake smash & family shoots - both immediate and extended. I also offer event & wedding photography by appointment.

I am currently available Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays and will be adding Fridays in 2026.

My home studio is located in Brighton and offers a cosy, welcoming space designed for you to feel at home in. It’s stocked with props, wraps, outfits, hats, headbands, furs, florals, blankets and backdrops — everything needed to create beautiful images that are unique to you. It isn’t a big commercial setup, the space comfortably holds around —10 people and is perfect for newborn sessions, children, and immediate family portraits.
Our home is nestled on a 30-acre bush block, providing endless opportunities for outdoor sessions with a rustic, country vibe, and all of the outdoor photos you see on my website were taken at my property (other than beach shots)
If you would like to have your shoot in your own home, at the beach or at another location, I am more than happy to come to you.
